Surfboard Shapers

PART 1: THE WOODEN YEARS

This new exhibit will feature surfboard shapers from the early beginnings when surfboards were made from wood, glue and varnish. Come see the tools they used, the boards they built and learn all about these craftsmen who helped carve out the culture of surfing.

Surfboard Shapers Part 2 coming Summer 2010.

The 40th Anniversary of the 1968 World Surfing Championship exhibit opened November 1, 2008 and has been extended to be on display through spring 2010. The ABC Wide World of Sports coverage and Barry Church's photographs bring back the era of the 60'.
